Rationale
In an increasingly globalized world, world-class education is crucial to the development of Myanmar. Spending on recreation, education and culture in Myanmar was $2bn in 2010 and by 2030 this is expected to increase to $14bn. With just 1% of GDP being spent on education and a relatively low rate of English literacy in the country, Asia Strategic believes there is a huge opportunity to be an instrumental player in this growing market.
In 2017, Asia Strategic acquired rights to operate Wall Street English, a leading English language training provider, to equip the existing workforce who aspire to stand out in the job market with English literacy. Following the success of Wall Street English Myanmar, Asia Strategic seized an opportunity to narrow gaps between skilled graduates and the demand in the job market. In 2019, Asia Strategic set-up Yangon American International School, a K-12 school, to deliver world-class education to Myanmar’s upcoming generation and shape them to become global citizens with an international perspective.
Approach
By partnering with reputable educators with a record of global best practices and standards, Asia Strategic is focused on becoming the largest English language learning provider and one of the largest private education businesses in Myanmar.
CASE STUDY: Wall Street English

In early 2020, Asia Strategic seized an opportunity to acquire the rights to WSE Vietnam along with 7 WSE centres operating in and around Ho Chi Minh City.
